#NSBEPDC2019 will be held in San Diego, CA August 21st through 25th at the Marriott Mission Valley.

The NSBE Professional Development Conference (PDC) is designed to create a learning environment for attendees. Participants can expect to gain valuable development and career access information to elevate their careers. Sessions are designed to provide value to professionals at any career level. Topics to be covered at the conference include leadership, interpersonal skills, project management, and specific technical subjects of interest to our members and the community.

  • Chair


    Frenae Smith is employed at DTE Energy and is the Manager of Codes and Standards and Laboratory Services. She is a member of many professional organizations and has received recognition for her contribution, including awards for Outstanding Leadership and Outstanding Young Engineer of the Year. She recently chaired the TPC planning committee for #NSBE45 in Detroit, MI and has an excellent vision for adding value to NSBE Professionals at national conferences.

    My career has started in public service, and I continue to make strides to engage my community outside of work. San Diego State University is my Alma Mater, so I am ecstatic to show our national membership the simplistic beauty this Southern California gem offers!

    I have a passion for serving my community both professionally and socially. My career passion is to help build infrastructure that is safe and reliable for my community.  In addition to my involvement with NSBE; I am the currently the chapter President of San Diego Urban League Young Professionals. I look forward to show casing what San Diego and Region Six has to offers.
